Wow, what a great level of integrity he noticed he'd projected his ‘negative' teaching experience. I did the same a few years ago and felt awful after I had shared my negative experience of a job with a newbie! Great video, loved this.
Great show, Jess! All in with spreading positivity throughout this community. I think it's so powerful that you both want writers to know that they are not alone. Super clever to present both sides of the publishing world here, indie & trad. Maybe you two can meet up in the future for a deep dive on that topic. My take-away from you was the 'value in the journey'. So true. Glad your Wildest Dreams journey has led you here❣️
I joined Substack to finally publish what I write—and to write more because I publish. To feel that unmistakable spark: the goosebumps, the sweet churning in the belly (most likely a hormone whose name escapes me). I’ve realized this feeling is crucial for my happiness—a kind of quiet, vital joy.
Of course, there are many obstacles, most of them living inside me. The biggest one: English is my second language—of three. And close behind it: a dragon I unintentionally raised, called censorship, born as a survival mechanism while growing up under a regime where freedom of speech was a distant dream.
I just wanted to thank you for the work you do, for the hope you plant and water in this community. I would love to be part of a circle of writers—growing together, inch by inch, word by word.

I think that if you want it, you can get it. ^^
Hi Jessica, hi Jason,
I joined Substack to finally publish what I write—and to write more because I publish. To feel that unmistakable spark: the goosebumps, the sweet churning in the belly (most likely a hormone whose name escapes me). I’ve realized this feeling is crucial for my happiness—a kind of quiet, vital joy.

Thank you for this!
Congratulations 😁🎊😁
It's awesome to know about the positivity of your writing journey's. I have some advice that might help both of you in your writing journeys.
